Playita NYU

NYU Tisch School of the Performing Arts

Performance Studies Department

October 6, 2011 (6-9pm)

This was an immersive learning experience presented for a unit on Burning Man in Richard Schechner’s “Ritual, Play and Performance” Course. As part of a five person team of performance artists, I created a 3-hour long interactive performance installation that took over the entire 6th floor of Tisch. Exploits included a mini-museum, a fortune teller, a photo booth, drum circle, and a final effigy. Participants were encouraged to play, create and experience the course’s core concepts of liminality and communitas.
